Yesterday, 16th of February 2026, evening around 8:50 PM, the Ex MLA of BJD, Smt. Raseswari Panigrahi passed away at the age of 79 years. Sambalpur assembly lost its veteran leader.

This all unpeaceful sadly things happened at her residence in the Shanti Nagar area.

By profession she was good gynecologists, a social worker. In her terms, she did many developments as MLA in Sambalpur.

Dr. Panigrahi was known for providing free medical assistance to underprivileged patients. She had also pledged her MLA pension for charitable purposes and was involved in several philanthropic activities through a trust named after her late parents.

Prominent personalities, including Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan mourned her passing, acknowledging her invaluable contributions to society and politics.
