The death of a man due to a delay in treatment caused by the lack of a motorable road in a village in the industry-rich Jharsuguda district has raised a question over the development as claimed by the Odisha government.
According to the information, Kunu Oram of Naikdihi village of Niktimal gram panchayat fell ill all of a sudden. His family called for an ambulance soon. However, the ambulance couldn’t come to his house due to the lack of a motorable road in the village. With no option left, villagers carried him in a stretcher for 1 km to reach the ambulance. But he succumbed to his ailment in the hospital.
The patient lost his life while carrying 1 kilometer patient at Laikera of Jharsuguda due to lack of road. Even after BJD has been in power for 24 years, such sensitive incidents can be seen. Patients are facing death without getting treatment due to lack of roads. Even today, Jharsuguda is far away from health services and road communication.
